Throughout my internship, I was not assigned major papers or anything of that nature. In place of major papers, there was an extensive amount of reading to complete, some weeks having as much as an entire textbook to read, and others having 8+ chapters to read. Our writing assignments came in the form of a weekly application and reflection journal with around 700 words per week expected. Upon completing my journals, I would typically send them to my supervisor at the agency so she could see through my eyes what was going on from an educational standpoint. We did discuss rigorously all aspects of the internship on a weekly and sometimes daily basis, but as work is work and school is school, having that extra information from a purely student side seemed to help both of us.

It was absolutely refreshing to be able to discuss and completely understand all situations that took place from an educational level and from the perspective level that all the staff members held. I didn't feel like "the intern," but rather, as part of the team which was an invaluable piece for me. Another important aspect I got to experience was being able to participate in the weekly proctor meetings and having the ability to share with the team my educational goals for the week, my learning goals within the agency, and especially being able to ask questions directly to the team about each subject and receive information from each team members perspective. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my internship with CBTS and from the looks of it at present, unless I can find another agency with whom I feel would be as attentive to my educational and work needs as a student, intern, and developing human service worker, I don't think I will be switching agencies.
